With the most recent revolution in sanding materials, net abrasives like Mirka Abranet and Sianet have changed the methods on how we sand things. The net abrasives were designed so that dust could be extracted directly through the abrasive.
When using orbital sanders or sanding blocks, extraction systems can be connected to extract the dust from the job. For some jobs, the abrasive may need holding by hand, which means no direct extraction. To avoid the dangers of fine dust, dust masks are recommended, followed by a dust filtration system like the Thor machines.
